The makeup of CHAWG provides an immensely valuable resource for the sector, providing a wide ranging and deep knowledge of cattle health and welfare.  Putting their commercial hats aside, members collaborate on behalf of the cattle farming industry for the benefit of GB cattle health and welfare.

The Cattle Health & Welfare Group (CHAWG) is an independent group that meets on a quarterly basis to collaboratively address relevant cattle health and welfare issues in Great Britain. 

CHAWG seeks to compliment the work of the membership, but help to initiate and coordinate activity when gaps are identified.  The CHAWG produces a biennial report: GB Cattle Health & Welfare Report – giving updates on progress in the industry, along with a Dairy Cow Welfare Strategy which it reviews and reports on too.
